Maybe it depends on the branch. Mine is in Mojacar and I used Revolut about 2 years ago then last week and on both occasions they charged me. Also, they only open on Mondays so I'm serious considering a move to another bank.

Maybe, mine is Vera Pueblo branch. I will check the next time I do a transfer

Mine is the Vera Pueblo branch as well.  Open everyday and as long as you transfer € in, there is no charge.

Just of interest, is Sabadell Vera open every day? The Mojacar branch is now only open on Mondays.

Yes, I'm well aware of that but thanks for you input.

Mmm. I pay €10 per month for my Spanish bank account. Seems a bit pricey. But as a UK resident (albeit with NIE) would it be difficult to open an account with a different bank?

We discovered that if we opened an additional deposit account (with a couple of thousand Euros) we didn’t have to pay any charges for our main (current) account with Cajamar, so we haven’t paid any for a couple of years. It’s worth trying to find out if there is anything like that with your bank.
I don’t know about opening a new account since Brexit, but they will be able to tell you. As long as you have the NIE I think It’s OK - we are UK based and we just have to show our updated NIE periodically

Good luck!

€10 a month does sound expensive, but not only does it depend on the bank you're with but the branch you bank with. I now pay €20 a quarter provided I pay a minimum of €700 a month in with Sabadell. The Spanish banking system needs 21st century competition with the likes Monzo.

I normally use Wise to transfer euros into my Sabadell account in Spain without transfer charges. I had a only €17 euros in a Revolut account that I no longer use so I thought I would transfer it into Sabadell. To my horror Sabadell charged me €18 for commission charges. I won't be using Revo...

...lut again any time soon!!

Why blame Revolut when it was Sabadell that charged the €18 - Sabadell should be the target of your ire. You would have been far better spending the €17 you had in the Revolut account on teas/coffees and snacks or at a bar
