Advice please, having just paid £120 for a Animal Health Certificate to get to Spain, has anyone travelled to the Uk recently with an EU issued passport. I’ve read that you still need an AHC to go. Is it therefore as expensive as the Uk, help please.

Even the papers are reporting in uk that for multiple visits, uk pets should take an EU pet passport. Works for travel in both direction without AHC

many thanks for your reassurance, I should have said that we were charged £220. in the Uk, on the ferry nobody paid more than £100. Will find Spain pet passport. Best regards.

I came over in July with my 2 year old Shih Tzu with an AHC which cost £150. Whilst in Mojácar we arranged a Spanish pet passport via the vet in the Commercial Centre (very good guy). This, together with a rabies jab, were €20 and €15 respectively.
Upon our return in early August, took her back to the vet for the worm treatment which was recorded in her (old) UK pet passport.
Now back in Mojácar having used the new Spanish pet passport at Eurotunnel to come over - worked a treat!
No more extortionate AHCs needed.
Only wish getting myself an EU passport was so easy!!
