Hi L181Sky,

Its typical isn;t it, people like us are in a difficult position, luckily I live in Spain full time at the moment and have no intention of travelling back to the UK in the near future, but like you when I do travel my animals come with me.. After taking with my husband we came up with this idea.&...

...nbsp; One of you travel by themselves back to the UK in time to do the required quarantine, the the 2nd person with the dogs travel back, and then the 1st person would be at Portsmouth to take the dogs should the 2nd person need to quarantine.  Hope that makes sense.

I can see why you are selling up, I would in your position as well. Its too much hassle and uncertainty.

Have a good evening

I cannot thank you enough Jenny. that you spoke with your hubby about our problem.  It’s a brilliant plan. and would absolutely work. I’m the only driver, so We would travel to Bilbao together, he would go over on the ferry and I would stay for the ten days at a hotel with the dogs ,   cheaper than his hotel lol.  My big bugbear is the technology.   Hubby is even worse. But,  IF the worst happens it’s a plan ,   thank you.  My brain is sozzled  with it all , AND it might not happen 🤞or, We may just not go at all.  Trudi x

If your talking of staying till November, then its reasonable to assume you have full residency. Why the rush to come home just organise your trip when quarantine requirements are lifted , as they will be in the near future.

No , We are not residents. 14th Sept till Nov doesn’t mean residence required . The quarantine question is for the way into the U.K.  Let’s hope Spain doesn’t become a red status country while we are there, and it could once the Holiday season is over .   now with the 90 day rule it’s not easy to just wait it out in Spain. it’s a nightmare . I’m also worried about not being there as we came Home in July as we were in lockdown from the first day. and we need to sign  the non resident form at the bank. and our huge garden watering system is on automatic lol.

Trudi, just a thought save you coming over at all during this uncertain time, how about giving POA to a lawyer to sign the bank form, and then there  are a lot of companies that could sort out the garden. Might be cheaper and less stressful than coming over when all balls are still in the air.

Travel in september will be totally different to what is discussed at present. Take account the uk says all will be back to normal by 21 June, so why worry yourself. I,m due to travel out on 19 May by ferry, staying 6 weeks with dog and wife, take it as it comes and make adjustments as required. Lets have some optimism for a change.

I hope your right James but I think you are being short sighted. No one can predict the future.

I’m just paranoid about the garden ,it takes care of itself really easy plantings .   but clocks and batteries in case they  fail On, lol. Years ago my Gardener left the hose connected and didn’t turn the water off ,he then fell out of a tree and was bedbound ,  the sun melted the hose and it ran for weeks , €1000 water bill in 2006!  I’ve got people checking the water meter whenever that pass the house, if it’s running during the day Houston, we have a problem 😎. Oh, and then he billed me , even worse,I felt sorry fo him and paid 🙈
