WE, Only need to do it once, to get into Spain because ,once the EU passport is marked up to date in Spain and stamped by the Spanish Vet , we only need the EU passports after that The EU Passport is Not valid if rabies is allowed to run out out , ours runs out in July. We can’t get to an EU vet till September

If your on a EU pet passport, why do you need a fit to travel certificate which applies to uk animals travelling to EU. Surely you only need an inspection stamped in your passport as previous. Re blood test this was a requirement prior to finalisation of ftt, and currently is not a requirement

EU passport is fine and it should be no change. The animal health certificate to leave the UK in my view is just a government cashing in

Yes govt cashing in. £220 for my two. But total nightmare anyway Just wish their rabies wasnt running out, while outside of the EU 🙈.

Desperate for help. Has anyone applied for an Animal health certificate from U.K. to Spain ? Has anyone with a dog which has an EU passport (Romanian ) had to get their dog a rabies booster in U.K. as it was running out and the question is ,I suppose , did the U.K. vet ...

...give the booster and did the Spanish vet mark up the passport ?
I just had one as I had uk passport for my dog but if you have eu passport for dog you wont need a ahc that replaced the uk dog passport as we are no longer in eu so not valid. I have just had all the information from my uk pet passport put on to a spanish pet passport. I took my old uk passport to vets in uk they used information from passport you have to let them know which country you are leaving uk to. So if its euro tunnel its france ferry its spain. You cannot change the first country you enter EU but once in uk its valid for 4 months cost me £150. Having new EU pet passport done in spain 40 euros. So now I can come and go in to europe without getting new AHC with new spanish pet passport.

Get uk vet to stamp up your pet passport.

U.K. Vets are not allowed to write in an EU pet passport. as we are not in the EU

We are relocating and need to know where the nearest vet lab is, as our dog has to have blood tests taken before we leave.
Can antbody advise/assist?

Are you in U.k. ? Your vet should be able to take the blood for testing, then you will have a titre test cert. It’s to make sure your rabies has worked and protects your pet , It would go on your Animal health certificate too. Then you will be able to get a pet passport from your Spanish vet when you get there.
