Hi All

Feliez Año to everyone.

I just wanted to post that there has been a sighting of Wild boar on the roads around the area just up the roads from the Red Cross roundabout.

My brother in law was having difficulty sleeping and decided that a short stroll might help. At around 11:30 PM, as he was leaving his gaff, he saw a number of dark shapes on the paths and road outside of his gates. As he got closer he saw around 8 to 10 adult wild boar  and possibbly the same amount of pigglets.

He tells me that some of these animals were quite large

Although they appear shy, they are still wild animals and are unpredictable in behaviour which could pose a risk to public safety. Like many other wild animals, wild boars will only attack if they are cornered or if they feel threatened. Female wild boars are very protective of their young and can easily be provoked.

With this in mind he deciced NOT to go walking out that night. He did howeever have the presence of mind of calling the local police, who promptly arrived and after some explanation they departed in the direction he told them the boar had gone in.

So for all you part taking in some late night revelries or you night walkers please excercise care on your way home in the dark.

Well if thats true than the buggers have a wide ranging territory.  From the Red Cross area to the Parque Comerical is not exactly next door.

Our house is up the hill from Red Cross - in the summer they were trampling through our garden. We had to build a new fence to stop them.

Sadly the poor things are in search of food and water.  The very dry weather has not helped them.

True that but they are easy to spot and avoid, the panana hats are a dead give away.

They also have a defined territory and watering holes having a 'alf.

If you do not metion Brexit and speak only in the kings English  they usually remain placid.

Their also easily gotten rid of after 90 days but have a bad habit of returning
