Has anyone recently purchased health care in the Albox area ? my husband and I are age 55 . The quotes we have received have been very expensive.  Any advice ?

Good morning,

I am 58 and my Mrs is a lot younger but she has a pre-existing condition. We really struggled with all the major companies who wouldn't insure her. We then tried Tailor Made Healthcare who sorted us out us. We needed it in order to obtain our Residencia.

We are now both insured with DKV but her condition is exempted. It costs us just over 200 euros per month. It was all completed online and via email.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Regards, Tony & Sam

Hi
Try DKV they were offering 40% off their Health Insurance and other offers. Their rep is  Vicky whose telephone number is 694 439 436and is available 24x7 and speaks English, French, Flemish and German. Her email is [email protected]  We have had quotes and they are very competitive but we have not used them yet.

Hi we've just purchased 12 months private health in order to get our residencia. I'm 60 and Mrs C is 54.

We got it from Santander for 1500 euros for both of us.

Wow! That seems very cheap compared to most.

Did you have to have a bank account with santander in order to get this insurance?

Cheers T&S

We do bank with Santander but I'm not sure if that made any difference or not, why not call in and see them in the Mojacar branch the assistant manager is a lovely Scottish lady who would confirm either way

Thanks for the reply!

So, just to be clear - you needed the 1 year health insurance for yourself and your wife in order to obtain residency. Same as we will...

Santander gave you the required cover, that was acceptable for residency, at a cost of £1500 for BOTH of you (not £1500 each)

Thanks for your help ;-)
