I have question on this, what would be the rule on travel to and from Airport crossing different provinces? Example Murcia through to our home in Vélez-Blanco in Andalusia. Would this travel allowed as it is essential for you to reach your home. I must add second home as I am not a resident here...

... in Spain Yet, so this may then nullify the word essential. TIA

Hi Nathan

Without trying to sound a smart bum I think Dario's answer is pretty much the answer to your question. Travel between provinces is allowed within a given region. No travel between Regions, at least for the next two weeks, irrespective whether its, by car, air or on foot.

And I think you have answered the second part of your question yourself. It has always been the case that travel to primary homes has been allowed for Spaniards and those with Residencia. Indeed not even Spaniards are allowed to travel to their second homes outside of their primary province.

This is worth a quick read.

Hope this helps.

Good answer from truenudist and dead right.

Until Spain opens its borders to British holiday makers, you will be unlikely to even be able to enter the country, let alone cross regions / autonomous communities.  You are looking at mid-to-end of July for that, at best guess

Dario!  Please help me.

I heard this afternoon that we can travel between provinces within Andalucia from Monday.  We want to go to Almeria from Malaga.  Someone (on bloody social media) has said I'm wrong.

Antequera to Cuevas.  Planning on Tuesday...are we allowed?  I've gone from high in the sky to down in the dumps if this bloke is right....

Oh please look up one the official websites as shown on here.....people have different ideas/ reading of things.....A good site is the Brexpats in Spain.....some of the people are a little bit 'know it all, but know nothing' which you get on all sites including here! However Anne Hernandez who speaks and reads excellent Spanish, is a really good source of TRUE information.....and as soon as The government puts out information she is on to it.....Good luck....

Hi NannieH

I'm sure you set great store by 'Brexpats in Spain' but for a website that purports to support British subjects in Spain one would think that the 'Latest News'  page would be somewhat considerably less than almost a year old since it was last updated. Add that the fact that it has a Facebook profile which is where the majority of misinformation comes in the first place I would wish to seek my information from more up to date sources.

regards,

Dario, I will watch tentatively what will happen on July 1st, whether they uphold stricter rules for the UK travels and deny entry due to Covid numbers in UK. Social distancing/ self isolating would not be an issue for us as we are quite remote up there in Vélez-Blanco. The main thing is getting this virus under control so people can be safe. Hopefully I will get out there in August. Take care stay safe

I would like to think that by August you'd be coming here .... Fingers crossed. I was saying "Early July" not so long back, but Spain's Minister of Tourism put a stop to that!!

I know you are driving, not flying, but watching what the airlines do may give you some idea of what is happening.  For example, Jet2 initially announced they were restarting flights 1st July.  Very very shortly afterwards, they put out an announcement that commencement of flights (by Jet2) had been put back to July 15th.  It would appear the airlines themselves are not sure when they can start bringing passengers in.

Read what Dario says.  Only in region of ANDALUSIA.  if you cannot travel to Almeria airport I suggest you play it safe and wait another couple of weeks when you will probably be allowed to travel to and from other regions.  All this formation has been on Facebook and Google for weeks.
