Thanks. Yes we do have Solicitor in Albox, will speak to them on Wednesday just trying to look at various options. Getting to the point of sitting it all out for a while.

Mike

Good luck, Mike. That may be your best option at this time, but you'll make it eventually.

Were you returning to your home in Spain?

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Thanks, will have everything we need for the trip, just waiting to speak to the solicitor for a letter. Like yourselves also considering having a test prior to leaving. Main thing is to get the pets out before the 31st.

I have read reports on various Facebook sites in Spain from people that drive from U.K. to Spain.

1. If you are travelling direct there should not be a problem. Complete the form for travel through France, stick to motorways as far as possible, don’t drive during curfew hours.

2. Carry evidence of the purpose of your journey: not a good idea to just come for a short holiday break. Bring evidence that you are buying/bought a property - or resident status here.

3. Whilst there are police checks occasionally, there are tourist flights still arriving here at Spanish airports (and leaving for the U.K. from Spanish airports) and passengers taking a rental car to where they plan to stay in Spain. The police do occasionally stop traffic and check that they have a valid address that they are driving to. The same will apply for those that arrive by road from France.

4. There is no requirement for a negative Covid test if driving through France or to Spain but always sensible to ensure when you step out of the car (or are stopped and wind the window down) that you are wearing a mask!

5. The main concern by police is that you don’t leave the motorway to travel through communities where there is restricted travel. Obviously you will have to do so at some point but only at journey’s end.

Good luck!

Chris

Hi, we drove from UK to Spain and back 2 weeks ago to sign some paperwork, on the way to Spain (which was motorway all the way) we didn’t get stopped, on the way back everyone was pulled over south of Zaragoza, the police checked documents, asked where we were going and waved us through

we also drove through the night in France and didn’t see any police patrols, other than just over the Spanish border, but they just waved us through

fingers crossed it’s the same when we come down with all our stuff after Christmas
