We are going to have a look at the Albox area as we are hoping to move to Spain this year , so we were wondering which is the best area to live as we would like to live walking distance from amenities and it must be animal friendly,  any info would be much appreciated.

Be wary of what estate agents tell you. Employ a reputable solicitor, pay your 3000€ deposit only to the solicitor irrespective of what your estate agents tell you.

Hi

We are visiting the Albox & Arboleas area in March and are also hoping to buy before the end of the year because that’s when the transition period ends. There has been much useful advice on this forum -I would suggest that you search the many  topics on buying in the Almeria province

Good Luck

Marie

Hello all,

My partner and I are wanting to eventually move to Spain and have been looking online at run down fincas around 15 minute drive from Albox with a good amount of land. We eventually would like to set up as B and B or retreat centre. Is the area accessible enough for this would you say? I've also read about a lot of illegally built housing in Albox area where people's houses may get bulldozed down... Can anyone shed any more light on that as that sounds all very dodgy. Thanks in advance.

there are a lot of illegal properties in the area of Albox and surrounding villages.  be very careful when you look around and check with the local councils before you make any commitment.  get a trustworthy solicitor which is hard and don't believe anything you are told on face value.  As for B & B business not really that sort of area not close enough to the coast.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I have read even more since, about the illegal properties. Such a shame as it seems a lovely area. I think the B and B would be more to target walking holidays and such for those not too fussed about the beaches. I guess its all a matter of research, research and more research as it is with anything.
