Sorry . Is it me being stupid . So what is being said is , if you sell your uk house in October for example , whilst living on the uk . Then move straight to Spain . You have to pay capital gains tax to spain . You wouldn’t be fiscal tax payer in spain , surely not straight away ?

If you sell a house in the uk and make yourself resident in the same tax year you will be liable for capital gain tax on the sale of your uk house in Spain, the tax year in Spain is January to December

Can’t really get my head round that when I would have paid tax in the uk for 10 months and wouldn’t be a fiscal resident in spain . I haven’t live d in spain for over 180 days in 2021 ?

If you sell your house in the uk the same year as you gett your residentia in Spain you will have to pay capital gain tax in Spain on your house sale in the uk, if you sell your uk house in 2021 and make yourself resident in 2022 you won't have to pay capital gain tax in Spain for the sale of your uk house

I’m sorry but I believe you may be wrong . I will not be resident in spain for 180 days in 2021 ? Therefore, not liable as a fiscal tax reside t until 2021, after the 180 days from October 2020. Does. Can anyone confirm this please

Just a thought did you say you where going for residentia or not if you are going to be a none resident I'm not sure if you would have to pay the tax I am just presuming if you are selling you house you will be going to live in Spain full time

You are only allowed to stay in Spain for 90 days then you will have to leave unless you have applied for residencia

We will be coming to spain on a non lucrative visa in October . By which time I will have sold my house the day before we travel to spain. I thought you only become a tax resident in spain after the 180 days ? Therefore , surely , I wouldn’t have to pay tax on my, already sold property in the uk ?
