Strange..... it did seem you were "warning" people off them in your comment!  Infact that is what you said...,"I am warning"...So no need to shout with capitals at me! We contacted 5 different companies before we had solar installed, 3 did not get better ack to us.... one said they would be ...

...in touch soon and never did....Ecocorp got back to us and 2 neighbours had them already.... The other neighbour had them installed with us...

I'm not interested in arguing with you.

I will leave it at that.

Who is arguing? I am stating honest facts. Without resorting to using capitals to shout..... I am sorry you have been paying too much for electric due to previous owners not questioning it.... I presume they had neighbours who would tell them their consumption costs?..... and surely you realised how high it was..... we are in our 70s and question everything.... always have.... always will.....

I agree but a company that install solar should have recognised by analysing the bill that the standing charges were not as expected ie not single phase but 3 phase as there is a massive difference.

But surely previously to looking into solar you would talk to neighbours about your high consumption costs..... just don't understand the head in the sand attitude of people.... we check and check again as I feel certain you do. If it is higher than others then find out why....simples...

I give up, I have tried to explain from a professional unbiased point of view that there has been a genuine mistake made by the solar company and you keep reverting to your own satisfactory experience.  Hence I will say no more on the subject.

I'm with Crankcrank on this. It sounds like, an otherwise reputable solar company, has (in the Michael 71's case) not fully covered the bases.

I also think Crankcrank has made valid points on this subject

I would be interested to hear from Ecocorp as to why 3 phase inverter was installed - did they survey and find an active 3 phase coming into the house and assume it was using it?

As Crankcrank says, any competent electrician is going to spot a 3 phase supply straight away - which judging by OPs post they did (I assume the big 3 phase box he talks about is an inverter?)

I’d be curious to hear their reasoning, I must admit.

@Michael71 - have you considered writing to Ecocorp and asking for an explanation in writing as to why this particular installation was deemed  necessary to be a 3 phase supply?

Just moved to Los Garcias and my solicitor has switched us from Endessa who the previous owners were with to Energy Nordic?

I have no idea if one company is better than the other but Nordic say they're all very green and they offer the opportunity for Solar panels so hopefully we won't have a phase 3 issue. But if we go down that route we will shop around for sure. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with either Endessa or Nordic that they wish to share. With regards to billing etc. Obviously more interested in Nordic but was puzzled why solicitors would switch companies. I have asked but as yet haven't had a reply. Thanks in advance.

We were with a Nordic for a long time and they were excellent. Only moved because our panels has better return with Iberdrola.
