Hi, we are hoping to come out to Almeria this year to buy a property to live in.  Looking at the NLV requirements, it talks about a criminal check in UK.  For this who have gone through this, any ideas how we go about this?

Just one other point, we were married almost 25 years ago in Dominican Republic, our certificate is actually in Spanish and we had it translated into English and notarised by De Pinna, our marriage was not registered in the uk though.  Again has anybody seen whether Spain will accept what we have as is?

thanks for your responses

Hi this is the link you need acro.police.uk/Police-Certificates-Online it costs £55 for a standard check but I'm not 100% sure but i have a feeling Spain requires it to be less than 3 months old, bit like the NLV. I'm having a nightmare trying to work out the timings for everything you need to do, to get out there now, especially trying to sell up & buy, removals etc.... at the moment im considering packing a bag, the dogs (after rabies shots & pet passport if still needed as i think thats changed!) and just going, as soon as my place sells and it goes through without problems or buyer backing out 😱 lol easy eh!

Hi ,I have just completed the NLV and been accepted. I got the ACRO certificate, as advices by the consulate. It takes approximately 20 days to be completed. Get that sent directly to the apostille company as it will save time along with your marriage certificate and doctors medical report. From there send them off to be translated altogether, it will save money . Hope this helps
