I thought your argument was that Government WERE trying to control?  A recession hurts everyone - especially the government who want to collect taxes.

Recessions are not friends of government - quite the opposite - they get governments kicked out.  If you are suggesting that “the government” falsified Coronavirus in order to CREATE a recession .... that is an act of political suicide.  It is also quite contrary to the precepts of economic globalism.

I e seen data suggesting UK is heading for recession, but not Spain.  

I have the impression you are anti-government JJ, but you don’t actually know WHY.  You’ve listed “globalism” which a) is not new; b) is not necessarily “bad” and; c) is actively being fought against by various world governments.  You then seem to suggest that as a method of “control”, “the government” are driving us purposely into recession - which again is contrary to globalism and has the exact opposite effect to “controlling” the populace.

2. The authorities assume you have some kind of intelligence and put the onus on you to assert personal responsibility to self isolate in order to prevent Covid-19 from being spread to others.

3. We live in democracies and long may it last. If you want the secret service or even the police calling to you often feel free to live in such police-state countries. If you do that self isolation and such like will be the least of your worries.

4. We are all in this pandemic together - Let's stick together and we can all enjoy life more in the future. The alternative is unthinkable.

I hate that phrase.  It indicates the poster  thinks they are only ones who know what’s going on.  Invariably they don’t.

But in answering my question, you failed to answer it.  You said “globalism” and indicated the purpose of the control was .... control BUT WHY? WHAT is the PURPOSE of this control? No one can answer that.  This answer is as vague as the others I’ve had .... “the government are controlling you .... so that they control you”. .... which makes no sense at all.  You also didn’t answer which “government” is exerting this “control” or why the individual and very fractious autonomous regions are still reporting figures you say are “total crap”

Globalism .... when America is pursuing an active policy of isolationism as is the UK, to an extent - it’s the exact OPPOSITE of globalism.

Sweden .... ah. Yes.  Not a good benchmark.  Even Swedish doctors and politicians are saying “oops.  Perhaps we got it wrong” - that’s being reported in various publications across the political spectrum. 

Retinal scanning only works up close, as Hartcjhart points out and if you have a credit card or mobile phone, “the government” knows where you are anyway ....

You do raise some me interesting points Jen Jen, but I’d suggest looking at something other than Coronavirus as “the government” exerting “control” and “globalism” as the measures put in place to achieve this “control” are the antithesis of globalism - they serve to isolate.  Looking at your answers, I’m not convinced you actually know what “globalism” is - it’s almost as if it’s a word you’ve heard which sounds bad so you use it to describe the purpose of divisive and isolationist measures ... what does globalism mean to you JJ?

And STILL no one has explained what the purpose of this theoretical control is!!

EDIT:  10:05 26/8/2020; Jen Jen, I see you have since deleted all your posts that were responded to - why, out of interest?  Do you feel the posts you put up are not robust enough to withstand scrutiny?  I was looking forward to a debate on what Globalism actually is and the arguments for and against it - it’s not new, incidentally, Globalism has been around since about 5th C. BC and the Greeks.
