With regard to the admins, might it simply be that they are unaware of the question? There is a contact admin function in the ‘how to use this forum’ section.

That could of course be the case...

Never the less I would love an explanation,pm or other wise!

And I still very much doubt I will get it one way or the other

Let it go now peeps...

At the end of the day,I guess Matthew has a point, its his forum and he can do as he wants, even if it may seem a bit wrong(in my opinion)

Enjoy the weekend everybody

JJ

. . . . . . next you'll be demanding that people who feed feral cats should clean up after them.

I'm glad you're seeing the light!

Without seeming to be rude, it has nothing to do with you why the Mods deleted JJs posts,so they do not need to answer your question.

Having been a Mod on another forum I can tell you it is mainly a thankless task and involves a fair bit of time dedicated to reading as many posts as poss,
...

...
whoever deleted JJs posts obviously had a reason, as, on the whole they let things run on here, and they answer to the owners.
Mods do not very often PM a person with a reason because that person invariably then posts what the Mod said often flaring up the situation,a PM is exactly that a Private Message

A forum is a place for discussion, OPEN discussion, if people are being rude, abusive or name calling then yes the article should be deleted and the person warned, as it is just not necessary. In this case there was no rudeness just a lively debate, obviously the admin, took offense to something that JJ wrote, I would have thought it was common courtesy for them to explain to her (not me) the reason they took this action. Had they done that I would not have posted my question. JJ is far from happy with the way she has been treated and rightly so.

Posts can be deemed offensive for many reasons, not necessarily because they contain bad language or name calling. People's views can cause offence (as evidenced by the burgeoning number of anti-racist movements who find some people's views extremely offensive). If people post things that are intentionally provocative, just to stir up trouble for the 'fun' of it as seems to be the case here, then some people are going to have the reaction that was intended.

Maybe the admin(s) on here have lost a family member or close friend due to Covid-19 and find someone posting about the virus being a made up concept, and it's all a government (which ones?) plot to be not very helpful. It is also extremely disrespectful to all the medical staff who have been working flat out trying to treat patients and save lives (how they do this for a nonexistent virus is hard to understand.)

The poster also assumes a level of superiority over the extremely knowledgeable scientists and researchers worldwide who are desperately trying to find a vaccine to prevent this apparently fabricated threat.

And calling people "sheeple" who choose to follow government advice and wear masks to help protect others is a form of name calling. Are all the Spanish children who will be required to wear masks when they go back to school "sheeple" too?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but needlessly upsetting people who have made sacrifices and lost loved ones, by posting on a local forum is perhaps not the best place to express it.

Hi Admin,  Can you please give an explanation as to why Jen Jen's posts have been deleted, there was nothing untowards said between her and Dario it was a lively debate, which a few of use were enjoying???

Regards  Jenni

Because this forum is not here to debate whether a serious pandemic disease is real or not. It is a scientific fact it is real. Unfortunately we have a handful of users who wish to tell the world that Covid isn't real and we are all being ruled by lizards. It would be irresponsible for any moderator to allow people to warp their minds with this nonsense and put others at serious risk. There have been documented cases where people have sadly died because they believed what they read on the internet when some lunatic has said the very real pandemic is not actually real. I will not allow this forum to harm others in this way.
