After getting caught in the UK Panic, we returned to the UK having imposed upon us 14 days lockdown. On arrival at Stansted no one took any details and no trial was logged. Got home, no security, been home 4 weeks no letters, visits, or stopping us going about our usual life.

Is this a desperate attempt at fright tactics, it really seems so, finance, travel, human acceptance, what really is the reason, Countrywide expression to contain not a virus, but an economy.

1. You are requested to self isolate when you return to the UK. This is for 2 weeks only and you do so at an address nominated by you. You also provide a telephone number at which you can be contacted at all times. You don't have to isolate in some kind of concentration camp with others in your position.

2. The authorities assume you have some kind of intelligence and put the onus on you to assert personal responsibility to self isolate in order to prevent Covid-19 from being spread to others.

3. We live in democracies and long may it last. If you want the secret service or even the police calling to you often feel free to live in such police-state countries. If you do that self isolation and such like will be the least of your worries.

4. We are all in this pandemic together - Let's stick together and we can all enjoy life more in the future. The alternative is unthinkable.

I was stating that, on return to the UK after being told 14 day self isolation, no one at Passport control took details of any of the flight, no phone number etc, we did abide for 14 days, and are now going about our business as normal as can be.

The point I am making is that the state makes a rule, but in the UK, unlike Spain, it has no substance or support to ensure adherence, and many selfish people can if they wish flout it.  Perhaps I was not to clear in my initial statement Matthew. For the record we have since been tested and are clear.

I think the point was that no details were taken.

No details were taken because presumably (and hopefully as it's a legal requirement) you had already completed the passenger locator form online. I returned to Scotland a couple of weeks ago from Los Gallardos and did have to show the printed version of the passsenger locator form at Gatwick. No-one contact me during quarantine but then the contact is random anyway so I'm not really surprised.

JJ and others that think it is all carp read this

https://www.google.com/search?q=american+who+thought+covid+was+a+cospiracy+loses+wife+to+the+virus&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-ab

pick whichever link you want.

if you think face masks are a waste of time then sorry you are a fool and a dangerous one at that,as for arriving back to self isolate they do not need to take your details they are on the passenger manifest.

yes fewer people are dying BUT that is only because the most at risk have already died,BUT MORE will die, dont become the grieving

If you do not love your family/friends etc then carry on as 'normal',and I hope to God I dont have to say 'told you so'

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

I was going to leave this alone but .... I genuinely want to know :

If the figures are “all total crap” as you say, how come the autonomous regions, many of whom are PP led and would love to embarrass the government, continue to individually report them?

Secondly - just a minor point - “immune” is NOT equivalent to “asymptomatic”.  Asymptomatic means they are carrying the disease but are not showing symptoms.  Immune means they have had the disease, and have antibodies which SHOULD prevent catching it again (except it’s now shown immunity only lasts at most a few months but that’s another story)

Government control : ok - this one confuses me greatly - how, exactly, is “the government” exerting more and more control? By making people wear face masks? Ok - I’ll accept that but .... to what end? What is “the government” trying to achieve with this control? What is the point? How will “the government” benefit from this supposed extra control?

I put “the government” in quotation marks because .... beings Pedro Sanchez has today devolved authority to the governments of the autonomous regions to ask for a State of Alarm if they feel the need .... WHICH government is exerting this extra control to their as yet as unspecified benefit? National? Andalucia? Catalunya?  Madrid?

Again, not all autonomous communities are friendly to central government - so are we saying there is some grand secret plan that everyone’s keeping secret?

I really REALLY want to know - I have asked this same “control” question on more than one forum, and have been met with answers varying from “you’ll see”, through “wake up and look” to the expected “sheeple” and two have blocked me rather than answer the question, but to date NO ONE has supplied a coherent answer as to what this supposed “control” achieves.

But again .... WHAT is this “government control”? What is it’s purpose - I mean, to what end are we being “controlled”? Who benefits and how? and which government is orchestrating it? Regional? National? Or all world governments working together secretly?

If I’m being controlled by “the government” will someone KINDLY tell me WHICH government, HOW I’m being “controlled” ... and to what end? The purpose? Please?

By the Lord DM I actually agree with you,

for population control face masks are the opposite of what they want, otherwise 'facial recognition cameras' will be of no use
