What about others areas closer to beautiful beaches and with many amenities.  Look at San Juan de Los Terreros and Los Lobos a village close by.  Check out the property prices.  Visit the areas, you soon soon get a feel for what you like. Compare all of the different areas and have fun.

I've never met you mate and I feel like doing that now, you sound like a whiny little bitch. Enjoy your life with the ladyboys.

Yeah  with those sort of comments you sre the sort of person living in the Almeria area that I am glad to say I won't ever need to come across ever againšŸ˜Nice area shame about the morons who live there especially the Brits. My ex Spanish wife did tell me once that the only reason the Spanish put up with the loutish Brits was because of their perception that we were all loaded with dosh......Well with the introduction of Brexit and the new Shenegen rules that come into force as of 2024 Spain won't be so welcoming anymore and they will be concentrating more on the Germans,French,Dutch and BelgiansšŸ˜So after some 20 years of association with Espana I am glad to know that I am never going anywhere near the country ever againšŸ˜šŸ‘

Glad I don't ever have to meet you. When I joined this forum, the impression I got was you were as popular as a fart in a spacesuit and left for a better life in Ladyboy land. Well good luck with that, but just out of interest, if you hate Spain and the ex pats who live there, why are still a member of this forum?

...ber of this forum?

ROTFLMAO @Geordiemark

''if you hate Spain and the ex pats who live there, why are still a member of this forum?''

one wonders if life in ladyboy land is all it's cracked up to be?

Mayhap he needs to live vicariously through us by staying a memeber of the forum or his whining and whinging  is ignored where he is now

@mo47 well said I am not a memeber of this forum long but from what I saw of his posts yours hits the spot

Pitstop

Iā€™ve lived in Spain for 22 years now, and in that time, and before, Iā€™ve been a member of many expat forums, and now some expat Facebook groups, and in my experience, Biggles is the most negative person I have ever come across.

Biggles, I offer you a wee story from the Buddhist Philosophy of Life:

One day a young man was travelling along a road between two villages, half way along the road he met an old, Wiseman coming in the opposite direction, he asked the Wiseman what the next village is like, the Wiseman replied ā€˜what was the last one likeā€™?

The young man told him it was awful, all the people are rude and ignorant and they cheat and lie to you.

ā€˜Wellā€™ said the Wiseman ā€˜the next one will be the sameā€™!

Puff

Bollocks,I have lived in Espana for 20+years and Costa Almeria and more importantly it's shit inhabitants have to be some of the most crap people I have ever come across.Glad I now live half a world away.If Chris Stewart can write a book about how wonderful it is living in Las Alpuharras I should make a fortune in writing about the shit and crap I have experienced in the Palomares,Vera Playa,Garrucha, Mojacar areas....Pity the nuclear bombs didn't take them out completely on the 16 th January 1966.....

Thank you

We are in the process of buying at the moment. Take your time is my advice, look at google maps and see if you can locate  the properties you are interested in on street view is my advice... it is possible without accurate coordinates and you can get better at this skill! It can then help you identify heavy animal farming/food farming and water areas.  Our  own brief was to avoid these things as far as possible to avoid  the mosquito who eat me alive and the dreaded flies. Some areas are much more prone to flies so do your research on this front. We found that many properties (although stunning) were discounted due to our steadfast criteria as mentioned. Having experienced  our worst holiday regarding flies when we stayed near an orange orchard grove this became a real no go for us. Yes you expect flies in Spain but when they land on you every second and you can't enjoy being outside and relaxing it defeats the object of being in Spain!

Good luck in your search.... but as our Spanish solicitor said to us in person ...if you want dead certs about property buying then don't buy in Spain! Always expect the unexpected and complications so get a good solicitor.
