...needed to be very close to facilities ( in case I'm not able to drive!). I also speak Spanish which he doesn't so again a compromise was required. What I can say though, is that although we live in an area where there are lots of Brits we socialise in Spanish bars (which abound even in Arboleas, Albox etc)  so our life is still one where we experience Spanish culture on a daily basis. I wish you all the best in finding the place that is right for you.

Rent first.. don’t buy until you try. We chose Mojácar and Vera Playa on the coast. Again I definitely say  try before you buy….we did and so have friends
