Sadly,both so called estate agents and property conveyors have a bad reputation,very much earned in some cases.Reason being that there is so much money for the taking.That will always draw the bad element,and damage the reputable professionals.

If you could not complete the sale of your flat on the so called deadline for good reason,but still wish to complete,then in most cases you should be allowed a little more time to do so.If your dealing with decent reputable people.
If your intention was to pull out of the sale,then you do unfortunately risk a financial loss of your deposit,but a good lawyer[if you can find one]could help you both ways.
This would involve time and money,most people except the loss thinking that nothing can come of it.
It may be worth having a chat with a lawyer,they can tell you straight away if you have a case,and no win no pay even better.
Anyway a letter from a lawyer always puts the wind up,maybe you will get a result.
