Thankyou for this info. i have just emailed Angela to see if we can go and see her next week. We have a headache at the moment with the cost of Health care cover. We are a few years away from pensionable age although were in our early 60s , and our concern is that its going to cost us the best part of £1000 per month to get health cover for 3 of us. We have looked up a company called Sanitas and there prices seem more realistic. Have you any advice regarding this issue.

Thanks Christine

Sanitas is more realistic. We have only obtained an estimate for our healthcare insurance for the moment as we are not yet in Spain.  I have spoken to Chloe at Angelas office and nearer to the time of us needed the insurance they will get some quotes for us.
From my experience of getting quotes you tend to find that if the premiums are high and you don’t have pre-existing conditions it could be down to the type of cover ie access to healthcare anywhere in the world. You wouldn’t really need that level cover if you intend to stay in Spain.  My understanding is that the certain Sanitas cover is suitable for Residencía and only usable in Spain in the main.

I have friends in the same boat as yourself, they are over 60 and have just been quoted around €220 per month for both of them.

They used tailormadehealthcarespain dot org.  They have an online quote system.  The policy is a special "no copago" which I believe is required for residence, it's with DKV Seguros.

Note. I am not in anyway affiliated.  Just trying to help.

Anyway, they were really happy with their quote.

As an alternative to Angela Morales, we've used Maria Maroto at Mundi Abogados for 2 purchases (and shortly for 1 sale and a third purchase). Very thorough and ethical, not from the area so not tainted with issues from the past. Maria and her colleagues Esther, who's currently on maternity leave, and Nicoletta were recommnded by our - also very ethical - estate agent, Paul Fullard at Next Stop Almeria. We've had no problems, have only positive things to say and recommend them all.

Agree. We used Maria Maroto when we bought our property in Mojácar . Unusually for Spain (and this is an observation not a criticism) she always replies to emails in a timely manner. Her English is excellent and we always felt in safe hands. Even more impressive, this took place mainly at the peak of the hard Lockdown in Spain and for much of the time Maria was working from home. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I don't think you can beat currencyfair for exchange to be honest.  Been using for years, best exchange rate I've found and only a couple of pounds transfer fee.

I just go online and transfer from my UK bank into my Greek bank.  It's there the next day.
