I don’t understand the question. How to stream from your UK contract.? Some people here buy another box which has the IP address in the uk. Ie the box thinks it’s in London or where ever in the uk.  It then does the tv and internet from the box in Spain but has a uk address. Not sure how...

... legal. U can most things done here but they recently shut down the signal from a specific satellite whereby a lot of people had paid for the dish, box etc and watched all the sky channels for free. They then had to sign up for another supplier.  People have sky and hundreds of channels but how legal some of the suppliers are I do not know

Best regards

Kev

Yes that's fine if you want rubbish buffering broadband and watch a film that keeps stopping every 2 minutes. Spanish internet is fine until the summer months and then its as slow as hell once everyone is online. Just not enough bandwidth and over subscribed. Fibre optic will make things better but I wouldn't hold my breath for our street to be kitted out. The legal part of it I don't have a clue about, but as its only me and my family watching and I am not selling tickets for the boxing then I assume it will be fine.  With Sky its all about the profit not the customer.

Yep I agree with that. All you need is a decent 4g signal and away you go.

Use your iPhone as your personal hotspot and then you have all the telly you need.

You cant Chromecast Sky as it wont let you, so you will have to connect your data source( laptop or tablet) via a HDMI cable to watch Sky. Or a Now TV box connected to your data source will work.

Iplayer and ITV player wont let you watch unless you do this via the 4g connection as it will think you are not in the UK.

Sounds a bit baffling but its really easy to set it up.

Kev.

Or, if you just want good Spanish internet, have a look at http://www.4ginternet.es and have a chat to Steve Bancroft, the main man there.

It’s a 4G system, free-standing modem / router and gives fabulous download speeds.  I get a regular 20Mbps down (it’s a 4G system, but I am using my own Cisco 3G router - the LTE router they supply will get up to 50Mbps down), 4 Mbps up.  It costs 59,95€ per month and for that you get 200GB of data

Spent the summer here and the internet was excellent from the tv shop man but I live in the boonies. As you said shop around and try and get some other users advice. Have not signed any contract and can change when I want if it did become pants. My property is directly in line with the mast/ transmitter so that helps as well.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Not only that, but as good as Fibre Optic is, it’s still limited in terms of bandwidth - even if it’s a true FTTD setup - it still has a physical constraint.

5G is on the horizon (perhaps not here just yet, but who knows?) and that will certainly mount a challenge to Fibre Optic ....
