I moved to Sierro a few months ago. There are a myriad of stray cats. No systems seemingly in place... And little or no interest, except to leave them to breed, with a little food left out by 'kind' villagers. A sweet little female  kitten just up and behind my house 'took to me' and has followed me home. I see many others are traumatised and often even rigid after long sleepless nights. I've phoned a few vets who seemingly gave 'no idea what to do'!!?? I don't have a car and so am pretty helpless in this - and stressed beyond... as my UK time is running out. It would appear that the locals generally leave it all to the Brits and expats, to neuter and/or take back to the UK what??? A horror story aktlky. Any advice.help.. . What to do.

Hola. We have a successful cat program called the TNR Program here in La Alfoquia. It is managed by Marie Weston Esworthy (Estworthy may be spelled incorrectly but if you key in Marie Weston the full name will come up). She is doing a brilliant job in collaboration with ABC Vets in La Alfoquia. You really do need to speak to someone who is already involved with such a program, as the Spanish can be a bit “protective “ over even stray cats !!!!!  Good luck

Thanks a ton... Appreciate.. Protective would surely entail spaying them as well?
