My hubby & I (Steve & Jo)are moving to Arboleas within the next 3 weeks, the house we're buying is wonderful but needs major & extensive works doing to it and we're looking for recommendations for any electricians, plumbers, damp proof coursing experts and roofers please that anyone has used and has had a great experience with. We're aware that Spain virtually shuts down in August for holidays but we will definitely need an electrician and plumber for the first week in August if possible, so if you know of one, please let us know. We can't wait to move to our new home and start to make new friends with our neighbours and within the area. We hope to see you around, you'll recognise us in and around Arboleas and Albox the hubby kind of looks like Brian May (strangers always tell him!) and I'm his younger drop dead gorgeous wife! 😉 Well okay, but I am definitely younger, we both have strong Sheffield accents, we enjoy a beer or two and are learning Spanish slowly. We are considering buying one of the many beautiful villas in the area. As yet we have not visited but plan to do so soon.

We have 2 questions.

1. Is there a reason why there are so many properties for sale?

2. It seems there can be water supply problems with no supply for 3 days sometimes, can somebody please advise how much of a problem this really is?

Hi we are considering doing a long term rental here to get a feel of how life might be if we then decide to buy here. Wondering what it’s like here ie is there much going on for ex pats, groups available, is the area pretty flat to cycle around? We are retired & keen to get involved if any walking groups, community groups, any veterans groups etc are around.  Bit nervous as a big step for us! Thank you
