The one that we've always looked at is the Colegio Valdeserra between Vera and Garrucha at http://www.colegiovaldeserra.com/en/ although our 14 year old son is refusing to move to Spain (strange child).

I believe  the school you are referring to is a private school. But not necessarily an English only school  The state schools are very good and your son would learn Spanish alot quicker integrating with Spanish children and several of the schools I believe have English classes. Vera us a very multicultural area nowadays.

At 6 years I would have thought it was the best time for him to learn quickly.  Why not wait until you arrive then find the nearest school to where you live and ask them about it.  You can always get private tuition for him in Spanish if necessary,  but you would be surprised how many young Spanish children speak a bit of English.  Don't panic your son will fit in I'm sure.  A marvellous opportunity for him to become bilingual.

Thank  you very much, we are thinking about moving in a year or two so he will be 7 or 8. I just don't want him to struggle. Is private tuition in Spanish expensive do you know? 

I don't know the cost of private tuition but if he joins a group it will be less, certainly less than the private school you were contemplating.  If he's got 2 yrs why not get him started in the UK?  He could be fluent and confident by then!  Ask at his present school if they know if any Spanish teachers.  Good luck. 

Hello 👋 we don’t live near Vera we are in Tíjola in Almeria but our son was 8 when we e came (last February) and he goes to a brilliant local public school which he loves. He had a few spanish lessons before we came but only once a week at school - he is doing amazingly well with his Spanish but has had a private tutor twice a week since September but it’s a lot cheaper than and English private school - hope that helps 

Ok thanks for your help? Does he struggle in school with not being fluent in Spanish? How much do you pay for private tuition if you don't mind me asking.
