Hi

Reference rabies blood test this is not required for travel to EU prior to Jan 21, and UK only require current pet passport for return after Dec 20. If you take out a Spanish pet passport this will then suffice for all travel in the future. The cost of the Spanish passport would br less that what...

... you paid for the blood tests, spanish vets are less than 50% of the cost in UK. We pay 15E for our fitness to travel inspection including all entries in passport, charge in northern france 40E

Do you have any recomendations for overnight stop in Spain

James

I feel there was nothing “Wrong” in my post.  “Ref Rabies blood tests”.   The Titier test is Mega important to know your dog is protected in Spain against rabies. That wasnt just regulations. !   So , why did you need a fitness to travel cert.  was that the same as us?  In case Brexit happened?    We normally use any of the Ibis , now bed and breakfast !     as they are all dog friendly,  stayed in Arganda del Rey Nice town ,hotel right on the outskirts , just south of Madrid the last few times.  Up and down.   Easy access and parking and clean.  Our tiny Romanian rescue has an EU passport ,I thought as we are travelling from U.K. we would need to change to U.K.   our next rescue is coming in July Romanian  too and will have EU passport.    When do you travel ?  .

Your in a fortunate position, the EU passport is acceptable in UK Post brexit, the blood test u referred to is part of the EU passport requirements, therefore you're fully covered. We hope to be travelling over early Sept, and stay 3 months.

The fitness to travel is an entry in the pet passport each time we come back to UK... Its time regulated only covers for a max period of 120hrs,from examination by vet to arrival in uk
