Good day everyone. We were wondering what Christmas time is like in the area. We have a holiday home in Vera Playa and tend to share our time locally, in Gurrucha & Mojacar. At some point we will stay over the festive season.

We know many places shut for the winter months but, how many stay open especially around Christmas day. Any comments about the local restaurants & bars would be most useful. Also, what sort of temperatures in the area. (I know, its the million dollar question and obviously varies a bit year on year).

Concur with previous poster. Numerous restaurants advertise 'Specials' for Xmas, but from 15 years experienceI can tell you we have generally been disappointed. Had way better in the Army. Overpriced for food of better quality the rest of year.

I would however recommend The Irish Rover for NYE. Entertainer, disco, dance till 2am and an excellent running buffet.

May be down market for some but we love it.

The Bistro is open all year and they cook Christmas lunch i believe. You may need to of booked months ago ..weve just moved to the area so dont know what else is about as yet. However its better tgan freezing in the UK or praying for a whiye christmas.. friends of our wrrw on the beach last yr on christmas day. Hope it helps a little regards carol
