Hi - I stayed a few miles down the road from Vera Playa a couple of months ago but spent every day on VP beach. I’ve been to naturist beaches before so not a newbie but the vibe at VP is very relaxed. Being able to park up and leave all your clothes in the car was a bit strange at first but aft...

...er a very short while, there are so many other nude people there it really becomes very easy and relaxing to be nude most of the day. Being able to walk naked round the area with cars going past and being in bars and restaurants nude is quite surreal at first but it soon becomes second nature and you forget all about it very quickly. Naturists are a friendly and welcoming bunch, I can’t wait to go back there and I’m sure once you’ve tried it, you’ll never go back to wearing swimwear again.

Hi Tyler
Thanks for coming back to me … really helpful. the whole thing is very new to me .. the beach will be a huge step .. walking along pavements is a leap !! But I did decide to make a list of things that are out of my comfort zone … so instead of starting at the bottom (pardon the pun) I think I’m starting at the very top !  As a matter of interest … is the beach busy and .. I noticed al quite an old piece online about a clear separation to the south of the beach between textiles and naturists .. but from what I’ve read it seems the boundary is quite fluid and there’s quite a bit of “overlap” between the two tribes with no real issues on either side .. is that true?

You’re welcome. I was there the first week in September, the weather was great. The central part of the beach was pretty busy but it gets a bit less so as you get to the edges of the naturist zone. I walked most of the length of the beach and you can go quite a way before seeing many textiles. It’s usually pretty obvious how far you can wander but my first time I did ask someone. The beach is so big there’s plenty of room for everyone. I think the fact that there are so many naked people around actually makes it less intimidating as you’re just one of many. On the naturist stretch of the beach I’d say it’s about 90% fully nude but no one seemed to mind if a swimsuit makes its way into the naturist zone. I think people go to VP knowing what to expect so I’d say embrace the freedom!

That’s great and really helpful advice … ima. Bit like a sponge just now trying to soak up as much info as possible ..

hopefully last questions …. Are there many sun loungers for hire or best to just reply on a towel on the sand ? And … are there parasols for hire or just expect to scurry off for shade when needed ?

thanks again :)

No problem - the central, busier part has plenty of sun beds and parasols to hire. I just took a towel and a parasol along and pitched camp on the sand in a suitable spot. The sand is soft so it’s quite comfortable to lie on. There are a couple of beach chiringuitos where you can take refuge from the sun (and liquid refreshments) if you want to, these are nude too but take a towel along to sit on. Glad to be of help, I was only there for a week but I’m sure you’ll enjoy the whole experience. Happy to take PMs if you need any other info.

Hi,

Lots of advice here. So I wondered if you took the plunge ?

I live along the coast and haven’t been to VP for a while but plan to visit in the coming weeks and months. It’s a great vibe. I enjoy the back to nature feel and freedom. Anyone fancy a beer anytime?

I hope you tried and enjoyed it too.
