Good Day All,

I am reaching out to the good people of the forum seeking an optician who speaks and understands English.

One within less than 1/2 hour drive of the Vera Costa area would be perferable.

Any recommendations?

Hi Alicia 11

Thanks for your reply.

I guess I should have been more specfic in my question.

Do you know the name of a good optician who speaks and understands English?

Haave you (or anyone you know) used any of the ones you suggeted?

Are they any good? Somone suggested Spec Savers but I would not use them as had a terrbile expereince with them in the past.

Do they do the full range of tests e.g presure, dilating drops, screening for glaucoma, digital retinal photography etc..?

Someone had told me that these are not common tests carried out at a large number of Spanish opticians.

we have always used the one in Hercal Overa Called Salas Opticus they are fully qualified and have all the proper equipment and also offer hearing tests.  Never used any of the others in Garrucha or Mojacar but they also have all the gear.

Optica Vilazar in Mojacar based next to the farmacia at the Red Cross roundabout is excellent, perfect English spoken and all the tests you could want or need...eye test free of charge and glasses very good prices...used them myself this year...
