Good Morning

Has anyone applied for the Convenio Especial in Vera and, if so, would you be prepared to share how you went about it?

Thank you in anticipation

Tina

It's a Special Agreement whereby you can apply to become a member of the Spanish Healthcare system, if do you qualify by any other means (eg S1 pensioner).  Under 65s pay €60 per month (much more over 65) but have to pay prescription charges at the normal price.

The primary requirement of Convenio Especial is residence for at least one year prior to application - have you had Residencia for a year or more?

That was intended for the OP, T1naA, Lyn, which is why I quoted her post.  I know you’ve been here a while.

Yes thank you, I know all the requirements and have all the relevant documents.  Just looking for someone who has successfully completed the application in Almería.

***UPDATED 13.04.21***

The application was made on 17.12.20

Unless you have a very helpful medical centre who will submit your application on your behalf (which we haven't), I think that sending the application direct to SA Sevilla, by Correos Certificado, is the way forward.  Just to say, we only sent copy documents with the original application (TIE, Passport, Padrón etc).

They sent the original Contract on 02.02.21 by Certificado but it never arrived. After an email, they sent a duplicate, after which the original arrived!

Signed and returned Contract to SAS in Sevilla along with proof of payment of the first €60 instalment by bank transfer.

Now awaiting the receipt of the forms to take to the medical centre to register.

Will post again when the next stage is completed....

***UPDATE APRIL 2021 ***

Medical card arrived separately from the confirmation documents on 20.03.21

The confirmation letter arrived 28.03.21.  A doctor had been allocated at Vera Centro de Salud so no need to register

All we had to do was set up a monthly payment from our bank account for €60 per month to they account number they give you

The process was started on 17.12.20 and documents confirmed registration as 23.03.21, so it took just over 3 months.

My advice would be to send the completed application along with the copy documents direct to SAS Sevilla.  And email them if you don't hear anything within a reasonable period of time.
