...sic, pub social scene etc, and wonder how the pandemic may have impacted on the area. are there  many holidaymakers, restuarants, bars open ? etc.

It's quieter than normal but pretty much business as usual with all the bars and restaurants open. Biggest difference you will probably notice is having to wear a mask in the heat!

...ble quarantine when I get back as I think this is just a moneymaking scheme, after all most of the contracts were awarded to government cronies or am I being cynical.
