Hi, please can I get some advice. I have recently bought Spanish plated car that needs Inspeccion Tecnica De Vehiculos. (Currently car does not have an ITV valid)

Can I book the car in for test prior to transfer of ownership?

Do I select (No Periodica) on Online booking site, due to being overdue and change of ownership?

Also finally, I do not have a Spanish Phone number yet, website does not allow me to continue booking without, can anyone recommend a work around.

You could try emailing Lorca ITV, in Spanish using Google translate or similar. They are extremely helpful.

Thanks Lorna, I will give it a try. I had an appointment today with a Gestoria in Velez-Rubio, they tell me it is possible. I would prefer absolute confirmation of this.

Velez Rubio have a test centre. Found them helpful in the past. You could try asking them.

It might be a bit late now but cant you insist the current owner get the ITV before you collect it?

Is it even legal to sell a car without one?

I am sure it would be illegal to drive on a public highway without a valid ITV, unless your taking it to the test centre.
