Hi everyone I have just taken possession of my house in the Velez Blanco campo and would be very grateful to         receive recommendations for local tradesmen who could be trusted to make and fit a bespoke new timber front door and also someone who could re roof a section of the house in rustic matching tiles, I have lots of other work I want to do but these things are high on the list of must get done ASAP.

Thanks,

David

Hi,

Try Radek Zadek of BBB RENOVATIONS. He is on Google Search.

May be out of his area though.

Also If you ring, call in or e mail the lovely people at Wood2Go in Velez Rubiobthey have a list of tradesmen & may advise/ recommend. On Google Search.

By all means mention Dr. Bob and Sandra to Wood2Go have used them over the years.

Do remember to get written quotes and check if legal in case of dispute.

Hope it all goes well,

Saludos,

Bob and Sandra

Good Morning,

But do check that whoever quotes is Legal.

Seem to be a lot more on the Black economy just at the moment. Of course they are not ensured.

Do give Wood to go my.best. Their planning of my decking saved 1/3 of the proposed price as they identified the 'builder' had overestimated. I sometimes wonder how!!!!!!!!!

Have a great week & don't rush the work. We took 7 years on the cottage after we needed to take legal action against s builder, an electrician, wardrobe fitters & a Solar Installer. Unfortunately 2 of 4 still out there.

Saludos,

Bob and Sandra

Sorry, I have not  noticed your post before.

There are quite a few British ex pats in the area, obviously not as many as you find on the Costas but never the less there are quite a few. I am to believe there are a fair few Belgian's also in the area but I don't know any personally.

Are you thinking of moving here?

I'm refurbishing.

Listen don't be under any illusions about being able to comunicate to the locals in English, you can't and why should you expect to? This is Spain and real Spain too, where most don't speak a single word of English. On the contrary to that , here you will find a proper Spanish welcome and a lot of patience to an Englishman who has arrived and wants to integrate and learn their language, if thats you go for it because both English and Spanish alike will help you. If it's not how you see it look elswhere but you will be missing out on a real gem and some lovely welcoming people. If you do decide to come, you will not be short of help.
