Well, it's still going on throughout Spain and also here in Vera ,again last night, I join in with Spanish music playing loudly and clapping ,and why not,? My wife is recovering slowly from cancer, I think the medical staff in Spain deserve a lot more than what I can give.

And we do it here every night as we are all grateful for the work they do, my Question was why only on a Thursday do they feel the need to clap in the UK?

As I replied earlier, it is an interesting question.  A lot is written  on local websites reflecting the gratitude felt, so I do not think it is lack of gratitude.  We are allowed out for exercise, and unless there is flagrant contravention of rules, police advise rather than fine, so we do not feel as imprisoned as the Spanish?  The English are more 'buttoned up' than the Spanish?  Official sources have celebrated the Thursday reaction, but to my knowledge not tried to curtail enlarge or organise it.  I imagine a lot of people on this from are English- what do you think?

I’m not sure for your area but a convoy have been going round our streets every Tuesday and Friday at 8pm with music and flashing lights thanking people for staying in and lifting communities. The first time as heard it, I thought it was an emergency and then in FB the following day saw people clapping and cheering so now we go out and clap and cheer keeping distance of course but it’s nice just to see a friendly face and lift our spirits.

I fee more protected here in Spain, boxed in , no I stay in with my wife because if I had the virus it's very selfish and stupid to pass it on.

The law in Spain and the confinement is by agreement, most of the population conform to it, although I know of some Brits who sneak out at night  for a very long walk with their dog or even visit friends , nor a very good witness for the Brits living here.

The police and the army are very polite and helpfull, having been stopped in and around Vera when shopping or going to Almeria for appointments.

Well done Spain
