Where are you situated?

We are at Cortijo Grande, It appears Next has the monopoly.  This is why I was thinking of a landline, might be more stable, can’t see fibre up here anytime soon.  Brian

You are welcome, just relating facts as I experienced them in the hope that I save someone else being ripped off.

There are several providers all much of a muchness. Have good internet connection, I have used WiMAX but have booked plusnet  fiber optic as soon as they are on my street in Turre. ...

...

I’m evidently days away from getting Plusnet fibre optic internet - which I’m expecting to be a significant improvement on NEXT - although how much, we’ll just have to wait and see (I’ve had fibre optic internet before, here in Spain and they were mostly bad!)...

Plusnet is offering 100 mb for thirty odd euros a month.

On this month when GSF’s box did not work at home, i brought it to his office. He connected there and said ‘there you go it works’ because they had fiber optic in his office. I asked him to come to my home and work it on the 29 mb that he had recommended and organized for me. He did not like when I asked if I could move my sofa into his office to watch Telly!

My point is I saw the result of fiber optic in his office and I feel that 100mb should solve our problem Struan. As regards IPTV box I suggest you see Ken at Connexiions at the main square in Turre. He is open till 1400 today and then Monday. Tell him Mel sent you.

Probably nit picking here but Plus Net are quoting €29.95 a month including IVA and phone line for 100mb. That is cheaper than Next but they don't as yet do a vacation package. As I have said I'm paying for 10mb with Next but lucky if I get anywhere near that. I've come to the conclusion that I would rather pay for reliable internet service than something that's hit and miss. Also Plus Net have their own TV system that can be loaded onto a box or firestick so will wait and see how it all works out. Meanwhile if anyone is up and running with Plus Net please let us know how it's working.

Many thanks.

Tony.

Agreed! Ended the Next subscription in Turre after 6 months. Found the using Hotspot on my (unlimited data ) phone on 4G was far superior! And cheaper!

Good information :) who is your provider? What is the monthly cost?

IF you can get Fibre optic where you are, I’d actually recommend DigiMobil.  1GB/s (1000 Mbps) for 30€ per month, no hidden costs, customer service in English.  Sign up available online.
