Hi Brian, I'm glad that someone has posted this topic on here. I live in Turre and am also with Next, even at the best of times their service drops usually during EastEnders I have put up with them because of their vacation package. Now at peak times I'm lucky to get 2mbs although it does seem to...

... have improved. I have registered my interest with +Net but because of the current situation they are unable to install although I have seen their guy's running cables etc throughout town. Hopefully their fibre option will be the answer to a steady connection. I hope you get something sorted out soon. Best regards.

Tony.

hMany thanksTony,  surely there must be a case to get some money back from Next, its daylight robbery.  I have to say the staff have been very good and polite, they must have lots of complaints.  I don’t hold out much hope of fibre getting to Cortijo Grande, still you never know!  Regards Brian.  (I suppose I will have to learn to read and buy a book).

Hi everybody,

Is anyone as disgusted as I am with Next communications?   33 Euros A month for constant buffering, I’ve just tested the speed at 20.30 and recorded 1 Mbps, but paying for 15.   This company is taking my money for extremely poor service, despite reporting the problem at least three ti...

...mes, but of course they have the monopoly at. Cortijo Grande.   I’m considering going hard wire to Telefonica who say they can deliver up to 25 Mbps.  Has any one any better ideas, PLEASE.

And please do not tell me to be patient because the system is congested.

Best regards to all and keep safe. Brian.

Yes, I'm as disgusted with NEXT as you are!

I' I was going to make a joke about NEXT ...that NEXT is NEXT to worst - BUT THEY ARE THE WORST!

I moved to Turre, two or three months ago and NEXT told me that they had a special relationship with Plusnet - who'd be installing fibre optic internet soon - then once I was with NEXT - I asked Plusnet what this relationship entailed and they denied any connection with NEXT - in terms that were not complimentary...!

My experience with NEXT in Turre, over the last couple of months, has been awful - constant freezing and buffering with the audio broken up for most of the time, I've hardly managed to watch a complete program. And when they were installing NEXT, I showed their technician a bag full of routers that I'd accumulated. But he said they had to use there own - then on one of my many visits to their office to complain about their terrible service, I brought up about my bag full of working routers - and they girl said that the technician should have accepted mine & saved me $50....so another NEXT ripoff - and by the way, Plusnet called me last week to say they'd be installing fibre optic internet in my apartment next week - so I'm expecting and hoping they do it this week - so I can expect to be able to watch an entire tv program right through - without having to give up - as is normally the case.

I get my UK tv via a MAG250 box.  I also have an Amazon Firestick - but it simply won't work with the NEXT connection...I've taken it back twice to where I got it in the Parque Comercial - and it's working fine...

Anyone got any advice on sources for UK & USA tv - as I said, I've got a MAG Box 250 - and I mostly watch documentaries so my favourite channel is PBS...

Hi, I'm waiting for+Net to come back to me, they have acknowledged my enquiry but during this lockdown haven't been able to install. I hope you get your installation ok but please keep us all informed of progress and performance. Best of luck.

Tony.

Agreed! Ended the Next subscription in Turre after 6 months. Found the using Hotspot on my (unlimited data ) phone on 4G was far superior! And cheaper!

If you are looking for an IPTV service don’t touch  a crowd called GSF Communications in Mojacar. I paid them in advance and from Day 1 I received no service and made several visits to the office with no result . The owner is a surly , rude man who, rather than sort the problem, resorted to aggression and abuse that necessitated a complaint to the Guardia Civil. Can’t say more as it is under investigation. But do yourself a big favor and go elsewhere.

Must admit Next service seems to have improved, not getting the 10mb I'm paying for but have not experienced buffering like I was having a few weeks ago. When Plus Net finally gets going in Turre they will be cheaper than Next for a lot better internet speed. Wether Next reduces it's prices to compete we'll have to wait and see. A hell of a lot of people I'm speaking to in town are waiting for Plus Net as well. Just trust they will be as good as expected.

When I moved to Turre at the beginning of February, I signed up with NEXT as I was led to believe that NEXT had a special relationship with Plusnet!

They don’t and now think that NEXT are the worst internet suppliers I’ve had - and I’ve had a few truly awful ones...

But things can only get better as I expect I’ll be with Plusnet soon...

You are welcome, just relating facts as I experienced them in the hope that I save someone else being ripped off.

There are several providers all much of a muchness. Have good internet connection, I have used WiMAX but have booked plusnet  fiber optic as soon as they are on my street in Turre.
