Please can anyone help! My Facebook account has been hacked and when I try to enter it, my password isn't recognised and my phone number no longer shows my email address but someone else's! I can't understand how I can fix this as Facebook have very little help on this subject. My alternative email also throws up an alien identity v**********.ru, or something similar. I should be so grateful is someone could advise.

You need to contact Facebook support - such as it is. Best idea is to search online / Google “report hacked Facebook account” and see if there is a link that will take you there. If or when you get your account back, put an Authenticator app on your phone and set up two-factor authentication

Thanks for trying to help Dario, but that link is the same old story, ie: Facebook say to change password, to type in name of account or phone number and then after doing either of these, they say they'll send an email to v******** (the hacker) so that I can reset my password! In other words, the hacker will get the reset code sent to their email!! Where do you suggest I go from here because so far I haven't been able to get any further!

FaceBook sucks. I’ll do some more digging today and see if I can find something a little better … FaceBook claims to care for your privacy etc, but it’s now just a huge advertising platform and as long as the ad dollars keep rolling in, they really don’t give a cr*p who’s account gets hacked.

I agree, and think I'lll close it down when all is sorted. It was just something that filled in lonely moments during the Covid thing and which got to be a habit, entering Groups etc.
