Getting into Bilbao around 5. 30 pm and therefore will need a hotel (dog friendly) around an hour or so beyond Bilbao.

I will be taking the Madrid route.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Gwyn

HI

We stay at J99 north of madrid, Hotel Mirasierra At Santa Tome del Porto, 3hr drive from Bibao, leaves a 6 hr drive following day. Dog friendly and nice walk into local village with dog friendly bar, well not allowed in bar, but enclosed area adjacent with big pellet burner for winter months.

Stayed here 4 times todate, works well, dog in room with us.

We stayed at Vitoria gasteiz . Hotel ruta de europa . Brilliant room. Lovely restaurant  n shop. Would highly recommend. But book direct as some websites say no dogs allowed. We took our St. Bernard and people at reception were lovely with him .

Hi Foster ,So did you have to enquire first then as to whether you could bring your dog or not.

Yes I had a look but it didn’t say anywhere that the allow dogs.  Your info is great as I would never have asked them.  Will do now as don’t ask don’t get.   Thanks
