Hello, I have e seen the answer before on this forum but can't find it again!

Can someone please tell me where to apply for a sea fishing beach licence? I seem to remember that going to a garage just off a round about road near to Vera possibly? I'm flying out on Monday for another 10 days and would like to finally try some fishing from the shore, but have been advised to get a licence sorted first, due to possible confiscation of tackle and fine. The police had 100 euros last time I drove over due to a faulty number plate, but said I didn't have to replace it while there! Bit odd rule.

I just want to catch a few fish to eat, as I'm a keen fisherman, and nothing beats sitting on the med coast with a couple of rods out!

Thanks in advance.

You can get a beach licence from the garage on the right just outside  Garrucha towards Mojacar.  You need your NEI certificate and passport, it can take a couple of days before you go back for it.  My husband and I paid about 15€ but can't remember if that was for 1 or both of them.

You get it from the fishing shop next to the Repsol garage just before Garrucha You need passport and NIE They apply for it on your behalf It costs 15 euros and takes a few days to be returned to the shop for you to collect It lasts 3 years and I understand it is free for the over 65’s

There are limitations as to where you can fish in the summer months and during the day I think it is safe to say don’t fish from a busy beach during the daytime but why would you want to Stick to the rocky bits which is probably where you will have a better success rate
