Mojacar or Mazzaron?

Hi my wife and I are a  recently retired professional couple in our sixties looking to rent /buy in Almeria. Our idea is to probably rent to start with and then purchase.We won't be selling up in the UK and are looking to use the property in the winter and once purchased,would possibly let it out to family  and friends in the summer.Ideally a town house or a detached villa with three beds in a good residential area with a decent community feel about it .Friends of friends have recommended Mojacar Playa.

We love the sea and boating though I am not sure how much boating there is in Mojacar and we love walking and cycling.It is my intention to take up Golf though to date I am pretty poor at it. My wife does yoga and Pilates.

We have been recommended two distinct areas - Mojacar  and also Puerto de Mazarron .Can't seem to find much on the latter but wonder if anyone in Mojacar has considered these two locations and why they settled in Mojacar.
