Hi, from what my partner said and it's her villa and she the sole purchaser, she was informed about the €3000 holding fee which she agreed to under the Spanish ruling of you default you forfeit, youre buyer defaults they pay you what would have been their €3000 deposit.

From what partner says she didnt get as far as the €1000 or 3x's the deposit as she was determined to buy this villa and the vendor was as equally determined to sell, trust and several meetings between both parties made it happen.

Well spotted! I was trying to look unlike Mr Cleese, but he's my double.

I looked at a new programme of A Place in the Sun today 14th October 2020.. It concentrated in Mojacar Pueblo, Turré with shots of Garrucha and a non relevant visit to a super villa. If you're thinking a cynical and wary Paddy couldn't wait to attack the participants, the presenter and the programme you'd be thinking correctly.

The prospective purchaser whoever she/he would be was waiting for me to be labelled Lamb to the Slaughter. Another mug from the UK was about to have my cynicism unleased upon her. True? No way! The lady was intelligent, achiever of the objective, wary, honest and no fool. She had lost her husband and brought her brother in law along to advise her and to ensure purchasing emotions were kept in the background.

The lady viewed several properties and beforehand had done some homework on the internet. She probably won't admit to reading some of my posts (I joke). She was attracted to a couple of properties but whatever it was she opted not to buy at this time, but to spend some time renting in the area and gave the impression that she will eventually purchase.

I don't know if she still owns property in the UK. I hope she does and realises its her greatest asset and perhaps renting it out to finance long stays renting in Spain is the most important decision? I liked the lady; shed didn't utter a single word of crap and was capable of making up her own mind and trusted only those within her "circle."

I enjoyed the programme and the lady in question would be welcome within my group of achievers-of-the-objective anytime. Whatever she wants to do I hope will come to fruition and I wish her the best.

I watched a re-run of the programme earlier today and I have no reason to change my opinion on Maureen who was determined not to be influenced by anything other than her own thoughts.

From an investor's point of view, I think she left a bargain behind her with the first property shown in Mojacar Playa. But, Maureen is not interested in investment as she wants to make Mojacar/Mojacar-Playa her full-time home.

If I were her real estate advisor I'd be plugging (i) "You'll need to be spending €4K-€5K to replace kitchen" and (ii) You're coming here for the sun, ensure you have sunshine during all daylight hours wherever you buy.

. . . . . and for the record Walt Disney wasn't born anywhere near Mojacar Pueblo or Mojacar Playa but a few Daffy Ducks still live there.

Hi  I thought there would have been comments about the programme A Place in the Sun, I recorded it   and watched it yesterday  , and after watching the programme for years , its the 1st time I have  seen decent sized rooms  and lovely houses  I would have had a ...

...hard time in choosing one. I would like to hear some comments from you

15 years ago I watched this programme. Fell in love with what they were offering. Found a company in the Uk that dealt with the featured builder, came over, bought off plan. Loved my villa, unfortunately had to return to UK after 5 years. Waited 10 years and now we are back in Spain not too far from where we were originally. Nothing as grand this time but perfectly ok for us. Follow your dream xxxxxx

I would love to see what Mathew really looks like.  It’s quite disconcerting messaging Mr Cleese lol.
