Hi

We' ll  be in Mojacar area for September and October driving north as far as Alicante and south as far as Roquetas. Am I likely to encounter toll roads on our travels? If yes, please can someone give me the idiot guide as to how to cope with toll roads?

Thank you

You can travel without any tolls to those places, no problem.

You just go along the A7 between Alicante and Roquetas which doesn't have tolls.

As a side note, when we're using Murcia Airport we love taking the toll road to/from Vera as it's so empty, the A7 is quite busy in parts. Just pick up a ticket at the first toll station you come to on the AP7 and pay in cash whereverever you come off or at the last one at Vera.

Personally I don't like the AP7 it is very boring, with little traffic due to the fact it is a toll road.  I recently drove from Scotland and came through Spain to Vera Playa toll free.  I don't think you need to go on the toll roads at all.
