Not quite. You do not need masks in wide open spaces when there's no-one about, like on an open beach. However, wherever you are if there is a risk of being within 2 metres of someone you must put a mask on. Consequently you must carry a mask with you always - the police were checking people on the Mojacar playa café terraces last night to see that everyone was in possession of a mask.

Not entirely true. You do not have to wear a mask if you have asthma.

better to carry one with you than have to argue with a policeman that you have a health reason not to have one.   it is easy enough to slip the basic medical mask on and off as necessary.   however, have seen lots of Spanish walkers in lycra with no noticeable masks on them no pockets to carry them in and they seem to be getting away with it.

On this forum on several threads I spoke about the near futility of wearing face masks. From next Monday the wearing of face masks on public transport in Ireland is compulsory. I will be complying.

Furthermore, wearing of face masks in supermarkets and places where 2 metre distance rule cannot be maintained is now officially recommended and I will be complying with this also.
