I have family here on holiday on Mojacar playa who wish to Tavel by the Garrucha bus (not the yellow one that only goes as far as the hotels) they don´t want to walk too far. Which bus travels into Garrucha itself  and does anyone know the times. We are near Hotel Continental.

the blue and cream Alsa buses travel through Garrucha to Vera Playa they run just after the yellow buses.  I think the fare is €1.20 but it may be a little more now.

From in front of the Hotel Continental. take bus number 2.

They have changed the routes to numbers 1,2,3. The routes are all circular.

The bus could be any colour just look for the number 2 on the front.

The number 2 is now the bus that runs along the coast road.

The number 3 is the other one that runs in front of the Hotel Continental. It goes  towards Garrucha  as far as ALEGRIA Palacio Mojacar hotel  near the Bunker de Garrucha I believe and in the opposite direciton  up to the Pubelo.

As above, Bus 2. Cost is E 1.70 each. Times are on www.autocaresbaraza.com  I know they start from the Indalo Hotel around the hour and take about 25 mins to get to Garrucha from there.

From Hotel Continental you need to take the Baraza bus number 2 to get to Garrucha. There is one an hour and it should be at your bus stop between 10 past or 20 past the hour. They can be white and blue, white and green or sometimes blue. The number 2 goes to Garrucha then Vera Playa and finally Vera. I think it will be 1.35 euros to Garrucha. To come back there is a bus around half past the hour from the roundabout opposite the Mercadona supermarket in Garrucha. The drivers are very nice and most speak some English. Download timetables from autocaresbaraza.com

The yellow and white buses only service Mojacar. There are 3 circular routes. You will probably only use numbers 2 and 3. From Hotel Continental the number 2 will take you along the coast road to the big hotels in Marina de la Torre then turns back along to the Parque Commercial and up to Mojacar Pueblo then back down the same route to Hotel Continental. The number 3 is the coastal route from one end of Mojacar Playa to the other. It does not go to the Pueblo. The number 1 does a similar round trip to the Pueblo via the Parque Commercial but from the other end of Mojacar Playa. You can download the timetables from the council website - ayuntamiento.mojacar.es Click on Tourism, then at the bottom of the page Plan your Trip - How to get to Mojacar.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

We were out there and only returned yesterday! The fare is €1.35. They seem to be digging up Garrucha and the market wasn't on while we were there. There's supposed to be a temporary location, but the traders haven't accepted it yet! The bus now stops in the actual port, as the stop on the road is the wrong side of the roadworks.

Ian.
