Yes movistar do have fibre but I don't think they would do 6 months

Well........I spoke too soon.........the guy from Next tried really hard so I have no complaints about the service provided.
However, we have no ‘line of sight’ and therefore no signal and therefore no internet.
He suggested we try Movistar through a phone line (even though we have no use for a landline). Does that sound like our next move or does anyone have alternative suggestions?
Many thanks in advance,
Andy

I would suggest Movistar will be your best bet - but surely Movistar have Fibre Optic in Mojácar?

Your other option is a 4G router which requires no line of sight or cables. For that I would contact Steve Bancroft (native English speaker) at 4ginternet.es

Brilliant— thanks for both posts DarioMartin. I will try both suggestions as i have a 12 year old daughter and no internet obviously means I am the worst father known to man 😂
I’m obviously using my phone as a hotspot once a day for her to access links to her friends back in UK, but that doesn’t solve the basic internet connection for all the family and tv.
By the way, one of the neighbours has said that fibre-optic is sitting at the end of the road but no company has used it for connecting to homes yet.

A 12 year old daughter and NO INTERNET?? *Screeeeeeeeam* jejejejejeje
Movistar have got most areas covered; I would have thought Mojácar will be covered by Movistar, especially if the cable is there .... that being said ... this is Spain; anything is possible!
I live at Valle del Este and used 4G internet access until Hola Fibra opened VdE up to Fibre. I recommended Steve Bancroft because I was with them for 12 or so months. The good thing about 4G access is that you can put the router ANYWHERE as it isn’t plugged in to anything except the mains and of course, if you move, you can pick the router up, take it with you and have immediate internet in your new place.
Un saludo, Darío
No I'm 99 per cent sure you're wrong....
You can buy a box from Next for 100€ then pay 33€ a month for English tv and internet...the internet can be turned off when you're not there 3/4 euros a month

Errr about what? If it’s that Movistar not running Fibre in Mojácar, yeah I can believe that

Sue— thanks for the reply but I don’t think you’ve read the thread completely.
Next have said it is *impossible* for them to connect me to the internet as they have no ‘line of site’ to their transmitter.
Therefore I have to try other options which DarioMartin is kindly helping me with.
Thanks for trying to help me- it really is appreciated.
