Hi,

We had our solicitor Michael Davies open a Sabadell account when we purchased in 2015

We have found Sabadell good to deal with, the staff in the branch speak good English and are helpful. Also the website is in English and easy to use.

I believe Sabadell bought out Nat West's Spanish branches and have since aimed at UK expats.

On the down side they (like all Spanish banks) have fixed monthly charges. They charge us €35 every March, June, September and December and €30 in October. I am not sure why the October charge, one day I will get round to asking them to explain this!

Other than these we have had no extra charges.

One word of warning though if you are buying a property the solicitors like to have a bank cheque to hand over on completion. Sabadell tried to charge us €300 for this! OUCH! After some "discussion" we agreed to take Sabadell's buildings insurance and they reduced the charge to about €80

The building insurance for a 2 bed flat was €188 which seemed about right, this has crept up to €227 last year so I may get other quotes for the next renewal. To be fair I did have a claim when my Air Con blew off the roof and they paid up without quibble.

Hope this helps.

Brian
