Why are you looking for a dog breeder, (all of whom should be banned in my opinion) when there are 10000's of dogs waiting for a good home, try the charities you might be lucky in finding a daschund.

It’s best to contact breeders through pretty much any breed as they will no doubt put you in the right direction .

I am somewhat disturbed by the demand from people that insist a person should take a rescue dog.

I was attacked online in a group not far from where I live , and I was actually stoped in the street and was told in no uncertain terms that I should have researched rescue dogs before I moved to Spain with our pedigree , blimey how dare I .

Makes my blood boil .

I am totally against Dog Breeders/Puppy farms, they are only in it to make money, making the poor bitch have litter after litter and then when its breeding life is over they sell it on. Usually these dogs haven't been socialised and come with many issues for the new owner. As already stated if you are hell bent on going to a breeder then ask to see the father and the mother, see if they are well adjusted dogs, running around happily or just sitting depressed in a corner, if they wont come to you, then I would walk away. As far as I am aware there are no rules in Spain about breeding dogs, there are very little rules that are up held about the welfare of dogs. So any one breeding is doing it for one thing money.  Not only in Spain but in the UK as well.
