You DON'T need a PCR test before returning - you need an antigen test two days before you leave and you have to book a PCR test in the UK for when you return (if you're fully vaccinated you have to isolate until the PCR test comes back negative). I dropped my daughter off today at Alicante Airport so that's as up to date as it gets. 

1) antigen test 35 - 40 euros each. Local pharmacies do them and Docthos Salud in Albox (40). You need to book with them in most cases - you can't just walk in off the street unless you're lucky so better safe than sorry. 

2) PCR test. Best to book this before you arrive. There are various firms doing these, including some done at airports as soon as you arrive back (although) these have been subject to supply problems and also depend on your arrival time - Manchester Airport drive-through and walk-through are only open til 7pm. These DO need to be booked before you go back as the UK passenger locator form asks for a booking reference and they won't let you board without it. 

I've just thought, are you returning to England rather than Scotland or Wales or Ireland? The other three countries have (or had) slightly different rules.
