Bank charges for U.K. pension

we have both of our state pensions paid in direct from UK government and there is no charge made the amount received is different every month because of the rate of exchange.  

Thanks - how good/bad is the rate of exchange?  At the moment I pay 0.4% to transfer from my Starling account.

No charge and the extra euros I am happy with.

That’s what HMRC told me, but DWP told me they transfer the money in sterling so I presumed the exchange rate was up to Cajamar. Of course it’s possible Cajamar play nicely on this!  As for extra euros for cost I don’t really mind this but as I have a system which is only slightly more hassle but cheap to run I may wait and see whether the difference is worth the extra bit of work

Hi there. We've had the Wefferent account since its inception and the 'normal' Cajamar account prior to that. Initially we had our pensions paid into our UK account, but then swapped to having them paid direct into the Spanish account. Bad move! When the crash came along we each lost a considerable amount on the conversions and returned to having the pensions paid into our UK account and transfer manually via Wise (formerly Transferwise), an excellent service with good conversion rates at little cost.

So why ask the question.You are Obviously money wise.

I may be relatively moneywise but that doesn't mean I know what cajamar will charge or how it will work -hence the question. I’ve found from experience that things don’t always work out the way you think they will -hence asking whether anyone had experience about what the actual costs are

If you are online with your banking then its up to you.  Are you expecting a crash??  I have my pension paid directly into Cajamar from the pensions office.  Am quite happy with this as i do not do online banking.   No hastle and I'm always satisfied with the rate of exchange whatever it may be.
