Firstly I apologise if this has been asked before.
My partner and myself have appointments for our TIE application on Wednesday in Almeria.
We have been told the best place to park is the Mediterranean Shopping Centre and walk to the office. Please could someone give us directions on foot from the shopping centre and how we will recognize the right building?

If anyone has been through the process recently I would be really grateful for a ‘walk-through’ of what to expect.

We have not got green cards or NIE, we have (fingers crossed) got all the paperwork required.

We only arrived here in Spain on Monday last and realise we have left it late and have been lucky to get an appointment so quickly but because it’s all been done so fast I feel as if my head is exploding! We are both in our 70’s and not as quick witted as perhaps someone younger would be.

Any/all help most gratefully appreciated.

I can't provide any practical help for your questions as my application was submitted digitally, but I just wanted to wish you well for your appointment.

from the main entrance of the centre you used to go to the right down some steps and the building is off to the right with lots of flags and queues outside.  you'll need to speak good Spanish and have to queue even with an appointment.  you get a ticket with a number from memory and take everything you can think of as the Spanish red tape always means they want something you didn't bring!  much better if you can get someone to go with you and assist.

Hi, when you enter the shopping center car park, stay outside,as you come in drive across the car park and you will see a back walking exit, walk through and turn right when you get to the road, Walk down and you cannot miss the Police station.

Best of luck

Hi if you go on google maps and put in your start place and end place there is an option for walking directions

When you come out of the front of Al Campo, you are on the Avenida Mediterraneo, and you need to turn right (downhill) and then take first right onto Calle Marruecos. Keep walking and there is a lovely cafe on your right and you will see the Extranjeria office with the flags and queues(!)

The best advice I can give is based on our personal experience which is:-

1) Take the printed copy of your appointment because if it is near the appointment time you can go to the 'Seguridad' on the door and he may let you in.

2) When you get in you need to type in each of the appointment numbers and you will be issued a ticket for each of you (separate appointments)

3) You'll get a ticket (like a butcher's counter) for each of you

Personal experience - we went in together and after my husband's paperwork had been scanned in and completed, the administrator wanted us to leave until I showed him my ticker as he thought I was my husband's translator!!!

The only other things I can advise is that we had all of our documents translated into Spanish and took the originals and copies.

Last Thursday (6 weeks later), our application has been approved and we are now dealing with second part and have been able to get appointments 17th December for our fingerprints etc.

I wish you lots of luck and if you let me know what date and time your appointment is, we can maybe have a coffee as we only live round the corner from AlCampo.

Google maps is a good idea if you're unsure about where to go.

When you get there, don't be put off by the crowds outside.  Head to the entrance and show your appointment to the security officer when he appears and he should usher you in when he sees that you do have appointments.

Follow the previous advice which is good, but do make sure you go to the loo before you get there because it can be a long wait!

I do advise you meet up with someone who speaks Spanish as it will be a very difficult experience if you don't speak the language!

Thank you, that sounds really  helpful. My appointment is 9:00 am and my partner Brian’s is 1:15 but at least on the same day. Be relieved when we have done it but we’ve been assured we have everything we need.

How did you get an appointment without a NIE it is one of the fundamental documents required!
