My wife and I have decided that in the next 10 years we are going to retire to the tabernas region. We are not rich and are going to save hard for the next 10 years to buy a slice of the desert. I would recommend you get in touch with Cortijos Almería Who have a number of properties in or near Tabernas. It's an agency based in Sorbas, not too far from Tabernas and will give you good advice and make sure you don't go wrong. Both Anna and Raoul are speak excellent English which is Raoul's first language anyway.
If you're wanting to live here, be warned that you'll need proof of a rather steep amount of funds now, thanks to Brexit. All the details can be found in various posts on this site and elsewhere on internet. Good luck!
