reading many of these blogs on a daily basis now. I was wondering about a S1 form and it's significance, where to apply for it, will I need it etc.

Any info much appreciated. Moving to the region in a couple of weeks to start looking for a new home.

I am 65 and my wife is 55 and a nurse. (she still wants to work?)

Hi

As you of Pensionable age then you need to contact DWP in Newcastle upon Tyne or Wolverhampton.

You can phone or e mail but have your NI Number to.hand. They will send you all the appropriate Forms & Notes to Guidance.

Unless your wife is fluent in.Spanish doubt there will be any chance of employment in State Facilities however there are numerous or several Private Companies like 'Helping Hands' & 'Almeria Angels'. These are on www.

Would assume for employment your wife will require Residencia as will you if staying more than 3 months.

There have been so many posts about Residencia and have found the ones.by Dario particularly interesting. Have to say it seems a bureaucratic nightmare compared to 15years ago.

May I also suggest you contact CAT Services of La Alfoquia who are fixers/ facilitators (for a fee). Only hear positive unlike others.

Look up the rules for EHIC which most people ignore anyway.

You can start your NIE in UK through the Spanish Embassy. That will get you off to a flying start.

Well, the very best of luck.

Absolute magic info Bob & Sandra.

When we get our feet under the table we will be in touch (I'm not a mitherer) to say thanks for all the valuable info you put on this blog/forum.
